The Management Trainee Program
The BNSF Management Trainee Program is for recent college graduates who,
with proper exposure, mentoring and career development, will become our
managers of tomorrow. The Program's purpose is to provide a source for
organizational renewal, support diversity initiatives, and infuse BNSF
with new business processes and technologies.
Management trainees receive cross-functional, departmental training during
their 6- or 12-month training period, as well as exposure to all departments
through an initial 1-month corporate orientation. Each trainee can request
a BNSF mentor for career and personal guidance. The training itself is
tailored to the individual and monitored by the sponsoring business group
and Human Resources department.
