Marketing Overview

In the Marketing department you can be a part of a team that is responsible for creating and maintaining successful customer relationships. We work together to develop, promote, and maintain rail services that offer customers the best value for their transportation dollar.

Business Unit Marketing is made up of four major commodity groups:

  • Agriculture
  • Coal
  • Consumer Products
  • Industrial Products

Inside each commodity group, our Marketing & Sales team is dedicated to working with new and existing customers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Marketing groups through providing information and analysis in core business processes.
  • Revenue and forecast planning, market research, competitive, capital and pricing analyses; time-sensitive customer support;
  • Team interaction with Account Leaders, Equipment Managers, and Market Managers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Marketing preferred.
  • Must have strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in PC-based spreadsheet, graphics, data base and word processing software packages. Experience using SAS or other statistical software a plus.
  • Must be analytical and possess above average quantitative, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Normal business hours in an office environment
  • Weekend or evening work as required
