Clerical Administration and Support

BNSF's Clerical employees provide unmatched support to several of our departments. In this work group, you could carry out administrative functions ranging from using programs to input data, run reports, research and analyze information - to posting bulletins, scheduling vacation for employees and filling vacancies.
This work group also offers operations-based opportunities including operating, servicing and inspecting a variety of material handling equipment; hauling crews from one location to another; and using different communications devices to direct train, vehicle or marine traffic.

Intermodal Equipment Operators

Working for BNSF’s Intermodal team means you are a part of the largest business unit we operate. “Intermodal” means moving goods using various modes of transportation; at BNSF, that means you will be responsible for moving containers (up to 53 feet and 58,000 pounds!) from trucks and trains onto our rails so they can be delivered safely and securely to our customers.
As part of this team, you could operate one of our massive cranes, assist the crane operator by directing crane movement using signals, or transport containers to/from the tracks using hostler trucks within the facility.

Resource Protection

Our patrol officers are “BNSF’s Finest” when it comes to guarding and protecting our employees, trains and shipments. As an officer in this department, you could be responsible for patrolling BNSF facilities, conducting corporate and criminal investigations, providing accurate and detailed reports, and identifying and properly handling trespassers on company property.

Telecommunications

Our Telecommunications department is responsible for controlling and maintaining all the communication networks that are vital to our day-to-day functions. These communications networks include radio, microwave, fiber, switches, PBX's, various wireless devices, and many more types of telecommunications equipment.
In this department, your responsibilities could include responding to trouble tickets, maintenance and operations as well as installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing sites.
