This site provides schedules and service offerings for trailers and containers in BNSF's primary Intermodal lanes.

Please select an "Origin" or "Destination" in the list box to obtain the search results. Other selections including "Service Level" and "Equipment" are optional search criteria. You may also type in the first letter of the "Origin", "Destination", "Service Level", or "Equipment", and then you will proceed sequentially through the list of Intermodal Origin or Destination Hubs, Service Level, or Equipment respectively. If you select "Search", all schedules from your search criteria will be displayed.

The schedules are listed alphabetically by the Origin Hub and show cutoff times at Origin and the associated availability times at Destination. Schedule times are listed by the day of the week. In those instances where the availability time will be a week or more from cutoff time, the day of availability will be listed as DAY2 (for example Houston, TX to S. Seattle, WA - the scheduled cutoff is 1800 on Monday in Houston with the availability in S. Seattle on Thursday of the following week at 0400). Notification will be faxed to the notify party (indicated on the shipping instructions) at the time of availability. For more information on notification, see the BNSF Intermodal Rules and Policies Guide, Storage and Free Time item.

To meet various customer needs, BNSF offers several service levels:

  • Service Level - E (Expedited): Competitive with team driver service, this service is for extremely time-sensitive shipments.

  • Service Level - P (Premium): Truck-competitive Premium service that is comparable with 500-mile-per-day or single-driver truck service.
    • P - Premium - Premium service with weekend availability.
    • N - No Weekend Premium - Premium service without weekend availability.

  • Service Level - V (Value): Service provided in select markets to address fluctuating supply and demand needs. Additional information on this offering can be seen on the ValueTrax web page.

  • Service Level - Y (Empty): Service provided for the movement of empty equipment.

For questions on E (Expedited), V (Value), and Y (Empty) schedules (not shown on the web) or other services, please send an email to intermodal@bnsf.com or call your Intermodal Marketing or Customer Solutions Representative at 1-888-428-2673 (1-888-IBU-BNSF).

The schedules are based on service under normal conditions and are subject to change without prior notification.
