2010-02-25

BNSF Resource Protection participated in a half-day Officer on the Train event in Riverside, Calif., to focus on educating motorists and pedestrians about the importance of highway-rail safety.

The location was chosen for enforcement based on its history of continued violations. During the event, law enforcement arrested five trespassers and issued 133 citations. They also issued more than 50 warnings and towed four vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers.

Twenty-seven law enforcement officers made this event successful. They included representatives from BNSF Resource Protection, the Riverside Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Federal Railroad Administration and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
