Bonjour Announces Retirement
2010-01-28
Beth Bonjour, assistant vice president, Technology Services, has announced her retirement effective June 1 after a 35-year career with the railroad.
Bonjour began her railroad career on Sept. 3, 1974, as an applications programmer for the Santa Fe Railway in Topeka, Kan. She received her first promotion in 1979 and has, since then, advanced in a number of management roles within Technology Services.
Bonjour became assistant vice president of Information Support Systems for BNSF in 1996. She was one of the information architects who helped merge the former Burlington Northern's and Santa Fe's computer systems into one. Bonjour was also part of the original team that developed the Transportation Support System (TSS) for Santa Fe Railway, which became the foundation for BNSF's current TSS program.
"Our team would like to acknowledge the significant impact of Beth's dedication and commitment and thank her for her tremendous contributions to the advancement of technology to enable an efficient and progressive BNSF," said Jo-ann Olsovsky, vice president, Technology Services, and chief information officer. "Beth has been a tremendous asset to our TS leadership team and a role model for many throughout BNSF. She is an outstanding example of and testament to our Leadership Model."
