Burchfield Named Assistant Vice President, Intermodal and Automotive Equipment

Karen Burchfield has been named assistant vice president, Intermodal and Automotive Equipment, succeeding Douglas Langston, who has been named assistant vice president, Service Design.

Burchfield joined Burlington Northern, a BNSF predecessor, in 1989 as a management trainee in the Marketing Department. She has held various positions in the Marketing and Operations organizations. Burchfield's most recent positions have been general director, Grain Operations, and general superintendent, Transportation. Burchfield will report to Fritz Draper, vice president, Business Unit Operations.

She received her bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University. A successor will be announced at a later date.
