Alliance, Neb., Shop Honored for Positive Impact on the Nebraska Economy

BNSF's Alliance Shop has received an Outstanding Industry/Business Award from a Nebraska nonprofit organization that promotes economic development in the state.

The Nebraska Diplomats is made up of individual business leaders who use their influence worldwide to promote investment and employment in Nebraska; the group works closely with the state's highest elected officials. Rick Stauffer, shop superintendent in Alliance, accepted the award on behalf of BNSF from Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman.

Stauffer said BNSF was honored for a variety of activities in the state and especially in the Nebraska Panhandle. "We've been very good corporate citizens and helpful in Nebraska's economic development in providing the transportation infrastructure necessary for the state to grow," Stauffer said.
