Watch for "Railway," Joint Operations Update 2010!
2010-11-04
The fall edition of Railway magazine is in the mail. This issue is a "two-for-one" because it is packaged with the 2010 Joint Operations Update DVD, which features key leaders in Operations discussing BNSF's successes so far this year and the challenges ahead.
The magazine profiles BNSF's commuter operations, with a review of service in four metropolitan areas that together move more than 100,000 people each weekday. There's also an update on how Telecommunications is supporting the installation of positive train control, plus a look at the 100th anniversary of Glacier National Park, founded largely through the efforts of a BNSF predecessor. You'll also find details about BNSF's Safety Coloring Contest, and if you're a parent of a high school senior, look for information about the BNSF College Scholarship Program.
Inside the magazine, Focus on Safety stories include a look at the Powder River Division's safety successes, the Southwest Division's PRIDE peer-to-peer safety process and more!
Note: The magazine and DVD were produced before the recent announcement about the promotion of Carl Ice to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer and other organizational announcements made today.
