Thank a Veteran for Veterans Day

Today, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day, a time to recognize the men and women who have served our country through military service.

This year, to commemorate Veterans Day, Matt Rose, BNSF's chairman and chief executive officer, sent a letter to all BNSF employees who are U.S. military veterans.

"This Nov. 11, I'd like to take a moment to thank you and your family for your service in the United States Armed Forces. Whether you are a military veteran, or continue to serve in our nation's armed forces, know that you are a valuable asset to the BNSF family," Rose says in the letter.

"Your service continues today as you play a vital role connecting people and companies in towns across America with the global marketplace," the letter states. "We value your contributions every day of the year, not just Veterans Day....Thank you for standing for freedom and justice and strengthening our nation."

BNSF employees are encouraged to take a moment today to thank co-workers who have given of themselves in service to our country.
