Updated: BNSF Scholarship Deadline Changed for April 15

April 15 is the new deadline for sons and daughters of BNSF employees to submit their BNSF Scholarship applications for continuing education beginning in the 2011-2012 school year.

The requirement for SAT or ACT scores has also changed to drop the restriction that the tests must be taken during the student's junior year. Students now need only to provide official proof of an SAT or ACT score at the time of submission.

The online application process is at the International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS) link.

Eligible candidates include high school seniors who are the dependent sons, daughters or stepchildren of full-time BNSF employees or of retired, furloughed, disabled or deceased employees of BNSF or its predecessor railroads.

Full-time employees must have at least two years of service as of Jan. 1, 2011, and must still be employed by BNSF when winners are selected in April. Retired, disabled or deceased employees must have completed the two-year requirement prior to ending their service with BNSF.

Please note that the application process must be complete by April 15. Students are encouraged to follow up with ISTS prior to that date to ensure all materials have been received and are legible.
