Introducing Friends of BNSF

BNSF recently launched a new website for anyone who has interest in or ties to the company.

The site will contain exclusive content available to members only. Those who join will gain access to articles, documents, photos and videos, many of which may not available on BNSF's primary website, bnsf.com. The site will showcase BNSF's 162-year history with photos, ads and other items found in company archives. Members will also be able to access free downloads including ring tones, wallpaper and a screensaver.

"BNSF is reaching out to those who are interested in our company," said John Ambler, vice president, Corporate Relations. "Friends of BNSF will allow us to keep the community informed about issues that are important to freight rail transportation and its role in the U.S. economy."

Membership is free, and anyone with an interest in BNSF or the freight rail industry is invited to join.

"Employees, freight rail advocates, members of communities in which BNSF operates, and, of course, rail fans are all welcome at Friends of BNSF," said Ambler. "We are particularly interested in forging closer ties with our large retiree community. Retirees are especially valuable to the company for their vast institutional knowledge."

An email address is required to join the site. Members can elect to receive email notifications when new content is posted in their selected areas of interest.

"BNSF may need to contact members from time to time to let them know about important developments in the company or the railroad industry," said Ambler.
