BNSF Receives Texas Veterans Commission Honors

BNSF recently received the 2012 National Employer of the Year Award from the Texas Veterans Commission for the company's support of veterans.

An estimated 15 percent of the BNSF workforce has served his/her country as a member of the armed forces.

"BNSF is committed to supporting our veterans," said John Wesley, manager, Staffing. "Our managers and supervisors provide support to employees who are deployed, and we focus on hiring veterans. They have the training and discipline needed to be successful at BNSF, and we are proud to be able to provide them with career opportunities."

The national award is presented to a company with Texas ties that has a significant population of employees throughout the country. BNSF was among eight employers receiving an award.
