BNSF Railway Recognized by LATINA Style Magazine
2007-02-22
BNSF has once again been recognized for efforts in diversity in the Latina community. For the eighth consecutive year, LATINA Style magazine has recognized BNSF among their choices of the top 50 employers.
Earlier this month, influential leaders of the Hispanic community came together at the Seventh Annual LATINA Style 50 Awards event in Washington, D.C. to honor the 50 best companies for Latinas to work for in the United States.
The awards are the result of an extensive survey of 800-plus Fortune 1000 companies’ practices including leadership programs, employee benefits and Latina representation in executive positions.
BNSF was noted for its commitment to all diversity initiatives and recruitment efforts. Jo-ann Olsovsky, assistant vice president, Telecommunications, and Barbara Cook, assistant vice president, Human Resources, accepted the award on behalf of BNSF.
"We were honored to receive this prestigious recognition in the presence of so many prominent Latina leaders representing our U.S. government and many major corporations," said Olsovsky. "We are proud that BNSF is committed to its diversity initiative including Latina professionals."
