Process to Request New Contractor Computer Accounts

Effective immediately, all requests for computer accounts for NEW contractors at BNSF should be submitted through the Identity Manager Self Service menu. To access the Main Menu:

• Select Employee Tools from the portal home page, then select Identity Manager from the list of tools presented. If you have never accessed Identity Manager, you will be asked to Subscribe the first time. This process will ask you for information such as the first four digits of your driver's license to validate your identity when using the Help Desk IVR to reset your password. Once you complete the subscription process, you will be taken directly to the Main Menu each time you log in to Identity Manager.
• From the Main Menu, select Manage Contractor Accounts. You will see a new link at the top of the screen that reads: Request New Contractor Computer Account.
• Click on this link to complete and submit your request for a new Contractor Login ID. The system generates an e-mail to the requestor and to the appropriate supervisor for approval of the request. When supervisors initiate a request, they receive a confirmation e-mail. Once the request has been processed, the supervisor and those copied on the original request, receive an e-mail advising the type of access granted and/or access pending. The Identity Management system immediately provisions Windows, Outlook and Mainframe access. Additional access such as secondary drives, group folders, etc., is addressed by User Registration. User Registration will notify the requestor and supervisor when all pending access has been granted.

User Registration will continue to accept requests via the User Registration Request Form (ISS28294) through Jan. 31, 2008. After that date, User Registration will return those requests with instructions to use Identity Manager Self Service.
