Thank a Veteran on Nov. 11

Veterans Day, an annual American holiday honoring military veterans, is Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Although it is business as usual for most working Americans, please take a few moments on Veterans Day to thank the veterans you know. They have sacrificed to protect our freedoms and to help others around the world.

Nov. 11 is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world as the date marks the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.
