Christmas and New Year's Holiday Service Plans Announced

BNSF will curtail operations on much of its network for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, subject to customer and interchange requirements.
Christmas holiday
-
Shift reductions in yard operations will begin at 7 a.m. Dec. 24, with regular operations resuming at 7 a.m. Dec. 26.

Mainline train operations will continue subject to crew availability. Train operations at origin points will be curtailed beginning at 6 a.m. Dec. 25, and will resume at 6 p.m. Dec. 25.
New Year’s holiday

Shift reductions in yard operations will begin at 7 a.m. Dec. 31, with regular operations resuming at 7 a.m. Jan. 2.

Mainline train operations will continue subject to crew availability. Train operations at origin points will be curtailed beginning at 6 p.m. Dec. 31, and will resume at 6 a.m. Jan. 1.
Both holidays

All efforts will be made to get our crews safely back home for both holidays.

Some of our customers will require service during the holidays. Divisions and terminals will post local service requirements.

Detailed operating and “tie-down” plans have been issued by Service Design.

Interchanges with connecting railroads will be kept open and trains operated as necessary.

Engineering, Mechanical and other employees in the Operating group should understand how the curtailed operation corresponds with the requirements of their departments.
