Diversity-Oriented Associations Recognize Three BNSF Employees
2009-10-26
Two diversity-oriented organizations recently recognized three BNSF employees for their achievements and contributions.
The employees are Anthony Martinez, program manager, Technology Audits; Trini Jimenez, director, Government Affairs; and Janet Galassi, director, Technology Services, in Transportation Services.
Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility
Martinez, based in Fort Worth, Texas, and Jimenez, based in Long Beach, Calif., are among 26 professionals honored at the 2009 Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Young Hispanic Corporate Achievements Program.
HACR, a coalition of numerous community organizations, has relationships with about half of the country's Fortune 500 companies. Each company was invited to nominate three individuals after a review of their accomplishments, established leadership qualities, industry expertise, education and employment experience. The candidates' demonstrated commitment to their communities was also considered.
Diversity/Careers in Engineering and Information Technology
Janet Galassi, director, Technology Services, in Transportation Services, was featured in the October issue of Diversity/Careers in Engineering and Information Technology (IT) magazine. She was included in a story titled, "Savvy transportation companies are deep into diversity." The magazine serves engineering and IT professionals who are women, African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans, Native Americans, people with disabilities and members of other diversity groups.
Galassi played a key role in the development and implementation of TSS Xpress, an important online tool used to track railcars and freight.
