BNSF Recognized as Clean Air Champion by North Texas Clean Air Coalition

BNSF was recognized recently as a Clean Air Champion by the North Texas Clean Air Coalition.

The Working for Clean Air^TM awards publicly recognize civic-minded businesses that have developed internal corporate programs to improve the quality of air, quality of life and the health of the North Texas community.

"BNSF is committed to operating in a way that protects the environment, our employees, our communities and the economy overall," said Mark Schulze, vice president, Safety, Training and Operations Support. "I am proud that BNSF has been recognized for its green efforts at our corporate offices."

This award reflects BNSF's policies and programs that meet or exceed environmental quality standards at the corporate headquarters' buildings. These programs include promoting walking on campus, as well as van pooling, recycling and ensuring energy efficiency.

"Rail is the most environmentally preferred form of surface transportation and BNSF is a leader," said Schulze. "We play a key role in our nation's economy while reducing emissions, saving fuel and relieving highway congestion."
