Eastbound Ethanol Splinter Trains through Chicago
Effective 12/5/08, BNSF has introduced Splinter trains for ethanol shipments destined to Eastern U.S. markets via the Chicago interchange. The Splinter train will operate as a unit train for the loaded move. Empty cars will return in single car manifest service. This Splinter program is restricted to BNSF approved unit and gathered train origins. Please reference tariff BNSF 4024, item 41005 for details.
