Prohibited Hazardous Intermodal Shipments

Certain hazardous Intermodal shipments are prohibited. (See the BNSF Intermodal Rules and Policies Guide, Prohibited Item, for a complete list of prohibited shipments.)

The following hazardous Intermodal shipments cannot be accepted by BNSF. Prohibited hazardous commodities vary by equipment (Trailers, Containers, Bulk Bladders (Flexi-tanks), and Tank Containers) (shown below).

Any shipment tendered to BNSF containing these commodities (including residue) will be assessed a $10,000 charge and other applicable charges, and the Shipper will be notified to pick up the shipment.
