BNSF Posts Weekly Traffic Volumes to Web Site

FORT WORTH, Texas, January 3, 2001:

The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) announced beginning today it will include a weekly traffic report on its web site at www.bnsf.com/investors. Each week, this information will be posted to BNSF's site on Wednesday afternoons.

The report includes:

  • All intermodal and carload unit traffic or connecting railroad during the reporting period, and
  • Individual week, quarter and year-to-date data as well as prior year comparisons for the same periods.

The weekly reporting period spans each Sunday through Saturday. Intermodal units are classified as containers or trailers and carload units are classified by commodity, according to the Standard Commodity Code used by the rail industry.

Attached is the BNSF Weekly Intermodal and Carload Unit Report for the period from December 24, 2000 through December 30, 2000.
