BNSF to Host Webcast via Internet

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 22, 2001:

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) (NYSE: BNI) will host a live Webcast of a meeting for financial analysts and investors to be held in Fort Worth on May 23 and 24.

The first session will begin at 1:00 p.m. Central Time, Wednesday, May 23, and conclude at 4:30 p.m. The second session will begin at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, and conclude at 9:15 a.m.

The Webcast will be available on BNSF’s Web site at www.bnsf.com/investors. BNSF suggests that those who plan to access the meeting through the Web go to the BNSF site by 12:45 p.m. Central Time, May 23, to install any software required to run the presentation.

For those who cannot listen to the live Webcast, a replay will be available on BNSF’s Website about two hours after the conclusion of each day’s meeting and will be available for a two-week period.
