04/17/20 Update: BNSF COVID-19 Response

Date
Apr 17, 2020

The BNSF network remains in solid condition as operations teams are generating strong velocity and efficiency performance. As we address the challenging shipping environment due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, rail service and train operations have remained normal thanks to the dedicated efforts of our BNSF employees.

We continue to work with customers regarding changes in shipping needs and allocating resources as effectively as possible to changing demands. With your ongoing collaboration, we are ready to assist with making necessary service adjustments and continue to provide the reliable, efficient freight transportation you expect from us.

While taking the appropriate precautions during this pandemic, our engineering teams have been making great progress on this year's track maintenance program as well as various capital expansion projects. The final phase of a project to convert existing triple track in Winslow, Arizona to quadruple main track has been moved up to this Tuesday, April 21 to reduce the impact to train flows. With a 14-hour scheduled work window, several intermodal trains designated to move through this location on the Southern Transcon may experience delays. BNSF is advising affected shippers and making adjustments to minimize disruption to scheduled train arrivals/departures.

As always at BNSF, the safety of our employees and contractors, customers and the communities we serve is the most important thing we do. For more information, please visit our Coronavirus COVID-19 Response webpage.

Thank you for your business. We will continue to provide additional updates.
