For Medicare-eligible Santa Fe Retirees and Surviving Spouses

What's Changing for 2014

• BNSF is increasing its contribution to your HRA to $2,575 each per Medicare-eligible retiree and Medicare-eligible spouse (or surviving spouse).
• The "open enrollment" period begins October 15 and ends December 7, 2013. If you want to change to a different medical plan, you must call Extend Health during this period.
• If you want to keep your current medical plan for 2014, no action is required.

In addition to BNSF's 2014 contribution to your HRA, any unspent funds remaining in your HRA at the end of 2013 are also available to you. You may use HRA funds toward the purchase of your 2014 medical coverage, as well as to reimburse eligible out-of-pocket expenses for medical, prescription drug, dental and vision services.

• Watch your mailbox for items marked with this Extend Health brand. You may notice the addition of "A Towers Watson company" on the materials you receive, noting Extend Health's new parent.

Your benefit advisor will help you evaluate the available options and choose the medical plan that best serves your health care needs and fits your budget. You may call on an Extend Health benefit advisor at any time, even for questions after you begin using your coverage or for claims issues.
