Supplier Information
Acquiring Vital Resources
Ok, we need a few things. Some paper towels, radios, roofing materials,
bump caps and, oh, some ribbon rail... BNSF's shopping list contains hundreds
of thousands of items purchased from an extensive list of sources. Working
resourcefully, efficiently and effectively with both current and prospective
suppliers is critical to our success.
Our procurement process
is designed to be very approachable and progressive, organized around four
key phases:
- Planning - understanding what It takes to do business with BNSF
- Sourcing - accessing the tools and processes needed to pursue a business relationship with us
- Managing - arranging and handling transactions
- Paying - invoicing and receiving payment for these transactions
Using our online resources is easy. Look for the log-in box on any Supplier page on bnsf.com.
Taking a few minutes to understand how this four-step method works and what is needed to create successful supplier relationships may open
new or additional opportunities for you and your company.
By understanding and adhering to a best practices approach in creating and sustaining vital supplier relationships, we create a winning combination for both BNSF and the companies that help us check things off of our shopping list.
