Canine Training
Resource Protection Solutions Canine Team members receive 160 hours of
basic K-9 training, followed by 60 hours monthly training between handler
and dog, and 48 hours re-certification training annually. This training
is in addition to other RPST and state mandated training
requirements for police officers.
Canine teams are continually tested to ensure the highest quality product possible is deployed
to the field.
To provide maximum effectiveness canine teams are assigned to strategic
areas around the BNSF system. These teams perform routine patrol
and respond to incidents when requested by railroad police or public sector
law enforcement agencies.
