FORT WORTH, TEXAS, June 2, 2026 – Members of the Transportation Communications Union/IAM (TCU) announced today they have reached a new tentative collective bargaining agreement with BNSF Railway, covering members at its Fort Worth headquarters.

“Reaching this tentative agreement with our TCU/IAM Fort Worth team members underscores the strong collaboration we’ve built with TCU’s workforce,” said BNSF President and Chief Executive Officer Katie Farmer. “Their support reinforces BNSF’s momentum as the industry leader as we continue advancing our shared commitment to safety, service, and operational excellence.”

The tentative agreement covers 37 employees and gives covered members wage increases totaling 17.5% over five years (18.8% compounded) with retroactive pay beginning July 1, 2025, as well as accelerated enhancements in vacation and preserved health care benefits.

“This agreement captures the entire value of other similar agreements throughout the industry,” said TCU/IAM National Vice President Brian Soderstrom. “Equally important is this agreement contains no concessions for our members. I appreciate the patience of our members and recognize the cooperation of BNSF CEO Katie Farmer and the BNSF Labor Relations team. Reaching agreements for such a diverse group of employees isn’t always the easiest or fastest but I appreciate the diligent effort to reach a fair agreement.”

This agreement, subject to ratification, follows the same terms as the current national pattern. More than 96 percent of BNSF’s workforce is currently covered under tentative or ratified agreements.
