Management Trainee - Hub Operations

Location 1-month at Corporate Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX, followed by assignment to a hub facility at any location on the BNSF system.
Primary Duties &
Responsibilities
This 6- to 12-month program includes a 1-month extensive corporate orientation in Fort Worth, TX. The trainee will be assigned to a hub facility at any location on the BNSF system to be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the coordination of the hub operations with BNSF's operating group.
  • Assisting in executing the terminal's operating plans to maximize efficiency for space utilization.
  • Assisting in planning and supervising the organization of the equipment inventory.
  • Reviewing train loadings, releases and unloadings.
  • Coordinating the operation through service partner or clerical employee activities.
  • Researching service-related inquiries from customers, corporate staff and marketing managers.
  • Assisting in identifying and resolving operational and service problems.
  • Supervising the compliance with and identification of security and safety requirements.
Qualifications To be considered for a Management Trainee position in Hub Operations, applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. College transcripts must accompany a resumé/application and clearly display the candidate's cumulative grade point average. Candidate must be willing to relocate. Additionally, qualified candidates must be able to:
  • Demonstrate through past safety record and practices that emphasis is placed on safety as a key part of daily performance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in areas or roles outside of normal job responsibilities.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing task priorities and work situations.

  • Work experience in intermodal operations, logistics, or transportation is helpful.
Working Conditions 7-day-per-week, 24-hour-per-day work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
