"Skip" Endres, vice president, Government Affairs, will retire from BNSF at the end of 2005 and that Amy Hawkins has been promoted to vice president, Federal Government Affairs, effective Jan. 1, 2006. Hawkins has been assistant vice president, Federal Government Affairs, since last November. In commenting on the announcements, Jeff Moreland, BNSF’s executive vice president, Law & Government Affairs and Secretary, said, "Skip has led our government affairs activities from Washington, D.C., since late 1994. He was instrumental in gaining support for our 1995 merger. All of us owe him a great big thank you for his leadership over the past decade." Moreland pointed out that "Amy has been working alongside Skip since she joined BNSF in 2001, following more than 10 years in federal government relations and transportation policy making including working for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) in a number of positions."
