BNSF to Report First-Quarter Earnings April 25

FORT WORTH, Texas, April 4, 2006:

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) (NYSE: BNI) will report its first-quarter 2006 earnings in a Webcast at 8:45 a.m. Eastern Time April 25, 2006. BNSF plans to issue its earnings press release at about 8 a.m. Eastern Time that day.

The Webcast will be led by BNSF Chairman, President and CEO Matt Rose and will include presentations from Tom Hund, executive vice president and chief financial officer; John Lanigan, executive vice president and chief marketing officer; and Carl Ice, executive vice president and chief operations officer. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Presentation material will be available on BNSF’s Web site at www.bnsf.com under the "Investors" link. We suggest that those who plan to access the Webcast go to the BNSF Web site by 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time to download and install any software required to run the presentation.
