BNSF Appoints Agricultural Products Customer Liaison for the Southern Plains

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, June 28, 2006:

BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) today announced the appointment of Mignon Lambley to the new position of southern field manager, Agricultural Products, effective today. Lambley, who will be based in Hooker, Okla., has been with BNSF in the Agricultural Products marketing group since April 2003, and will function as a customer liaison to respond to the needs of grain producers, processors and shippers in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
"The appointment of Mignon Lambley is a continuation of our effort to better understand customer needs and build trust and strong relationships. Mignon will function as a single-point-of-contact to address customer concerns, explain policies and procedures and provide feedback on BNSF programs and services," says Kevin Kaufman, group vice president, BNSF Agricultural Products. "Her railroad experience and familiarity with agriculture make her a perfect fit for this important position."

Prior to joining BNSF, Lambley was a merchandiser for Continental Grain. She has also worked for ADM and Farmland-Atwood, LLC as a licensed commodity broker and marketing advisor. Lambley is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science in Agricultural Economics and Plant Science. She earned her masters in business administration from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Mo.

In addition to Lambley, BNSF has two other agricultural products field customer liaisons: Jonathan Long, responsible for North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, and Don Karls, responsible for Montana and eastern Washington.

A subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (NYSE:BNI), BNSF Railway Company operates one of the largest railroad networks in North America, with about 32,000 route miles in 28 states and two Canadian provinces. BNSF is among the world's top transporters of intermodal traffic, moves more grain than any other American railroad, transports the components of many of the products we depend on daily, and hauls enough low-sulphur coal to generate about ten percent of the electricity produced in the United States. BNSF is an industry leader in Web-enabling a variety of customer transactions at www.bnsf.com.
