BNSF to Report Fourth-Quarter Earnings January 21

FORT WORTH, Texas, January 6, 2003:

Financial analysts and investors are invited to join Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) (NYSE: BNI) in person or via the Web for BNSF's regular quarterly meeting with financial analysts at 8:45 a.m. Eastern Time January 21, 2003, in New York City. BNSF will report fourth-quarter and year-end earnings and other performance results.

Presentation material and the simultaneous Webcast of the meeting will be available on BNSF’s Web site at www.bnsf.com. BNSF suggests that those who plan to access the meeting through the Web go to the BNSF site by 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time to download the presentation and install any software required to run the presentation.

A replay will be available in the “Investors” section of BNSF’s Web site beginning at approximately 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
