News ReleaseBNSF Recognized by Toyota Logistics Services for Excellence in Customer ServiceFORT WORTH, Texas, June 7, 2004:The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) was recognized by Toyota Logistics Services with Toyota’s Logistics Excellence Award in Railroad Customer Service for 2003. The award was based on BNSF’s ability to provide Toyota with superior customer service by providing daily monitoring of each shipment and proactive notification of service exceptions as well as having a strong commitment for service improvement. This is the first year BNSF has received Toyota’s Excellence in Customer Service Award. In previous years, BNSF has also received awards from Toyota for Excellence in On-Time Performance and Excellence in Quality. "Every employee in our organization is committed to ensuring we continue to meet Toyota’s high standards and service excellence." BNSF transported more than 60,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in 2003, originating from Toyota’s North American plants in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada; Georgetown, Ky.; Princeton, Ind.; and Fremont, Calif.; as well as their ports of entry in Long Beach, Calif. and Portland, Ore.
