AOK is a handling carrier for the UP and switches UP industries open to BNSF at Shawnee. The short line operates approximately 40 miles of UP track from Shawnee to Oklahoma City and a 70-mile line of railroad owned by the State of Oklahoma between Howe and McAlester. The Shawnee/Oklahoma City track is classified as excepted. The 45 miles of track between McAlester and Holdenville connecting to BNSF is currently out of service due to a washout in 1991.
