Central Gulf Railway (CGR)

Overview

CGR launched operations in 2001 to capitalize on NAFTA trade. It provides rail-ferry service service between the U.S. and Mexico connecting railways in southern Mexico to the U.S. and Canada. CGR operates two rail barges out of the Port of Mobile each with capacity for 115 standard rail cars and connects with five railroads. They are a railroad only in the sense of interchange agreements and car hire.
