Crab Orchard & Egyptian Railroad (COER)
Overview
COER connects with UP and BNSF at Marion and extends to Mande and Ordill, IL, approximately 8.5 miles. A separate five-mile branch operates from a BN connection at Herrin. The railroad was originally incorporated in 1971 to run excursion service and was acquired by COER in 1977 from the Illinois Central.
