Galveston Railroad (GVSR)
Overview
GVSR operates 32 miles of track leased from the Port of Galveston and began operations in 1900 as the Galveston Wharves Railway. Rail facilities cover approximately 50 acres. GVSR's primary products are grain (ADM), plastics and fertilizer. The short line serves a Roll on/Roll off terminal and manages a Storage in Transit facility, maintaining an average inventory of 300 carloads of plastics.
