Iowa Interstate Railroad (IAIS)

Overview

IAIS operates approximately 550 miles of track between Omaha and Chicago with a branch line to Peoria. Its 373 miles of main line track is mostly 40 mph. IAIS is one of the few regional carriers that connect with all of the Class I railroads. Located in America's Heartland, the IAIS primarily transports grain, agricultural products, steel, scrap, appliances, intermodal containers and trailers, chemicals and forest products. IAIS links BNSF with agricultural processing and other industries in the Cedar Rapids area.
