Indiana Railroad (INRD)

Overview

INRD is a 500-mile regional freight railroad founded in 1986 with origins from the Illinois Central. In 2006 it acquired a 92-mile line between Fayette and Bedford, IN from the CP and trackage rights over CSX from Chicago to Terre Haute which provided a connection to BNSF. The railroad hauls traffic between Chicago, Louisville and Indianapolis, with connections to major western and southern carriers. The line initially moved coal and served the Indianapolis Power & Light coal plant.
