Modesto & Empire Traction Company (MET)
Overview
The MET main line begins at Modesto at its interchange with UP and extends east along the northern border of the Beard Industrial District. The line runs parallel to Highway 132/Yosemite Boulevard as far east as Empire, CA, to its connection with BNSF (a total of 5 miles). MET has 28 miles of industry track serving the Beard Industrial District and operates a total of nearly 40 miles of railroad.
