Nebkota Railway (NRI)
Overview
DM&E and NRI serve the community of Chadron. NRI operates four miles of track on the old "Cowboy Line" east of Chadron and has a connection with BNSF in Crawford. NRI was formed in 1994 and originally operated to Merriman, but has since abandoned most of line it originally purchased. The shortline primarily serves the local grain business.
