BNSF's Industrial Products unit supports the Fort Worth community on a Day of Caring

Industrial Products business unit of BNSF Railway participated in a Day of Caring

In a team effort to support the Fort Worth community, more than 140 employees, who work in the Industrial Products business unit of BNSF Railway, participated in a Day of Caring, volunteering to help various community organizations who are connected with United Way.

Established by United Way in 1992, the Day of Caring promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism, increases awareness of local human service agencies and schools and demonstrates what people working together for the community's good can accomplish.

"This was our seventh annual Day of Caring where the BNSF family devoted our energies to making a difference in the lives of many in the Fort Worth area," said Dave Garin, Group Vice President of Industrial Products for BNSF Railway. "I am proud of our 140 Industrial Products employees who volunteered their time and talents to numerous local human service agencies and schools and with keeping our commitment to help our neighbors."

In total, the Industrial Products team volunteered at seven different locations in the Fort Worth area, including the Tarrant Area Food Bank, Salvation Army, GRACE and GRACEful Buys, Easter Seals and the CEC Second Chance Resale Shop.

The BNSF Industrial Products business unit organizes the Day of Caring for employees who volunteer their time throughout the year. Scheduling the Day of Caring the week of an annual business unit conference allows the volunteers to combine their efforts to accomplish greater community benefit.

"For many who attend our annual conference, the Day of Caring is their favorite part of the week, and we draw volunteers from across the U.S. and Mexico to participate," said Garin.
