BNSF Agriculture and Energy: 2025 Labor Day Operating Plan

This year, the Labor Day holiday falls on Monday, September 1. Agricultural trains will run as usual, and Grain Operations will maintain full coverage during this time. 

CARLOAD TRAIN SERVICE
While carload train service will continue uninterrupted on Labor Day, BNSF intends to limit yard, local, and road-switch assignments at terminals on Monday, September 1, in line with customer activity and demand. Please consult Demurrage Tariff 6004-C for details on free time and charges applicable for Labor Day. 

Note that connecting carriers with reduced operations due to the holiday might result in delays for interline traffic.

For interactive tracing 365 days a year, please use BNSF’s Tracing web tool by logging into the BNSF Customer Portal with your username and password and selecting Trace on the Home page. If you have questions regarding a shipment(s), please utilize the Message Us feature on the BNSF Customer Portal (must be registered/logged in to access) or contact BNSF Customer Support at 1-888-428-2673.
 
Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Labor Day. Normal coverage will resume on Tuesday, September 2.
