Some trains have been re-routed on a more southerly route to help minimize this disruption as much as possible. As temperatures rise to near freezing across this region today, BNSF operations teams have resources positioned to recover some productivity during the next 24-36 hours. An active weather pattern, however, will remain in place through the rest of the week. High winds and snow, particularly through Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana, are expected tomorrow. With frigid temperatures also returning at various times, customers should expect ongoing service challenges for shipments destined to move through the region.
Following last weekend's snowstorm in Chicago, we are also experiencing some lingering congestion and delays, particularly intermodal traffic destined to our Corwith, Cicero and Willow Springs facilities. By working together to reduce the amount of time your container/trailer dwells, we can generate improved overall traffic flow and lift capabilities at these facilities. BNSF offers multiple ways to track your shipments: Click here for more information on the tools available to customers to track shipments.
If you have any questions regarding your shipment(s), please contact BNSF Customer Support at 1-888-428-2673 (select option 4, then option 3).
We will continue to provide you with further updates on any major service interruptions.
