Who qualifies for retiree insurance?

Employees age 60 with 30 years of service are eligible for retiree insurance.

Does my spouse have to be 60 to be on my retiree insurance?

No. The dependents covered by your active insurance are eligible for retiree insurance. However, if your spouse or dependents are eligible for Medicare (due to age or disability) when you retire, they will not be eligible for retiree insurance.

How do I enroll in retiree insurance?

Call United Healthcare retirement line at 800-842-5252 and ask for these plan books: GA 46000 - Retiree major medical insurance for employee and dependents (no cost to employee) and the GA 23111 - Optional supplement (check with UHC for monthly premium cost).

Do I have retiree dental and vision insurance?

No. After you retire, you'll get a letter from UHC with information about COBRA coverage (lasts 18 months) if eligible.

How long do I stay on the retiree insurance?

You remain on retiree insurance until age 65. If your spouse is younger, he or she will have to purchase other insurance at that time (UHC may offer COBRA or other plans).
