Ag Products – Rail service for Grain and Grain Products
more
Mexico Agricultural Products
BNSF is a major transporter of grain in North America, connecting key grain-producing areas throughout the Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and Northern and Southern Great Plains to major consumption markets in the US and in Mexico as well as to grain export ports. Through its Agricultural Products Marketing Unit, BNSF specializes in meeting the needs of whole grain, grain products, and bulk foods shippers.
Our strategy has been to develop infrastructure in Mexico that can efficiently handle our 110-car grain shuttles. Today, we have through rates in place with Ferromex and KCSM for those facilities in Mexico that are shuttle-train capable. These rates are based upon the philosophy of rewarding efficiencies and sharing with shippers and receivers the benefits attained when moving these types of larger trains. For non-shuttle facilities, BNSF also publishes rates to different border crossing as well as to Corpus Christi, TX to connect with KCS to the Laredo border.
