BNSF Recognized for Focus on Customer and Employee Communications

FORT WORTH, Texas, June, 9, 2011 :

BNSF was recently recognized for excellence in both customer and employee communications by several advertising, film and marketing organizations.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) recognized BNSF with a silver ADDY for creative excellence in advertising in the Microsite category for its eBrochure at the 2011 Dallas ADDYS in February. The eBrochure is an easy-to-use online tool that helps customers and prospects gain a deeper knowledge of BNSF and BNSF's role in their supply chain. View the BNSF eBrochure.

BNSF was recognized for its corporate website redesign and for the eBrochure by the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association (TMSA). TMSA announced the winners of its 59th Annual Compass Awards in May, recognizing the best in marketing, sales and communications within the transportation, logistics and passenger transit industries.

The new BNSF website provides customers with valuable information needed to make effective supply chain decisions. It is organized around what, where and how they ship their freight. The site also provides valuable information to the communities BNSF serves, current and prospective employees, retirees, and the media. View the BNSF website.

"We are honored that our customer communication efforts have been recognized by such prestigious organizations," said John Lanigan, BNSF executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "At BNSF our focus is on making it easy for our customers to do business with us. This means helping customers quickly find the information they need most, which was our main goal with the website redesign and eBrochure."

The Silver Telly Council also presented BNSF with two awards at the 31st Annual Telly Awards in June. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. BNSF won Tellys for its "LIDAR" video and for "Ship with BNSF".

The "LIDAR" video shows BNSF employees how their engineering department is using laser imaging technology to map railroad assets. "Ship with BNSF" demonstrates to potential customers how rail transportation is ideally suited to move their wind turbine components from ports and manufacturing centers to wind farms located across the U.S. View "Ship with BNSF".
