Military Achievements

As one of the nation's top employers of military veterans, BNSF prides itself in having a strong military recruiting program with a long tradition of hiring veterans. "Since 2005, more than 5,000 veterans have been hired into the workforce."

• BNSF was recognized by GI Jobs Magazine as America's Most Military Friendly Employer in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
  
  
• Military Times EDGE Magazine ranked BNSF among the top employers for veterans on the "Best for Vets" list in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
  
  
• In 2012, BNSF was named one of seventy-five finalists for the CivilianJobs.com (MVE) "Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military" award and has ranked in the top 10 since its start in 2009. CivilianJobs.com (MVE) is awarded annually to top employers whose recruiting, training and retention plans best serve military service members and veterans.
  
  
• In February 2006, to show BNSF's commitment and support to the men and women in uniform, CEO Matt Rose signed the ESGR's Five-Star Statement of Support, making BNSF the first railroad ever, to have this distinguished honor. In November 2012, BNSF reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to service members and their families by signing a new Statement of Support drafted by the National Committee for the ESGR.
